Eating smaller meals as the day progresses (so dinner is a very light meal) and eating small amounts more often is also said to increase metabolic function.
Tip #2 Increase your water uptake.
It’s generaly recommended that we drink 8 glasses of water a day, or 2 litres a day. I have experiemented with up to 4 litres a day and have to say, it makes me feel great. At 4 litres a day I have loads of energy and my body felt light, pity about all the trips to the bathroom.
Tip #3 Lower your Intake of Toxins
Alcohol, tobacco and coffee are all commmon toxins that we injest.
High sugar intake has also been shown to distrupt liver function and hormone production. Many woman report great relief from a variety of menopause symptoms when they experiment with removing various food caregories from their diets. For some it might be diary, meat or sugar, for others it might be wheat or eggs, everyone is different. Try it and see what works for you.
Tip #4 Make 80% of your diet consist of Water Rich Foods
This can be a tough one if you want pasta dishes, roasts, and a cheese platter everynight. However if you really do enjoy these types of meals, make them a special occasion. Why not throw in some champagne. Just ensure that it accounts for less that 20% of your diet. Water rich foods generally mean salads and fruit, I know its hard to believe but after a few weeks of your eating being 80% salads and fruit, you will come to crave them.

Tip #5 Try a Body Detox
This is a great thing to do at anytime, but particularly when perimenopause or menopause begin. Research has show a link between body toxidity and the severity of menopause symptoms.
You can do a general detox, these are normally conducted over the course of 10 days or so but are very effective. The other option is to simple start cutting things out of your diet and see if your symptoms lesson (see Tip3)
Tip #6 Regular and Varied Exercise
Regular and varied exercise seems to be the BIG factor in a long and healthy life. It helps with stress, balances hormones, stimulates the lymph system, burns fat, increases your metabolic rate and reduces your risk of heart disease.
